I can't say if all of you know how I like the Kansai Jrs. known as Veteran. Well I do, and they did a four episode drama, as part of a series Dramatic-J, called Vacation. The main character was Ito Masashi of Veteran, with the other three as support characters. Yes there are more than four members in Veteran (there's like, 6) but for the sake of this post, there are only four. Either way, I enjoyed it.
Also, I happen to be quite taken with the one called Ito Masashi.
This is a post about the offshots of the drama from the Dramatic-J DVD. There will be spazzing, caps, and weird side commentary behind the cut. Yes, there will be spazzing, caps, and weird side commentary.
You have been warned. Twice.
It starts with the melodious sounds of bagpipes, set to a backdrop of sunset boys of summer (or winter).
dramatic(fits!) music ensues as we're introduced to the people we will be laughing at-
Maashii! In, I'm pretty positive, his trademark face.
Bunbun! All I can think of is ninja. Is that one coming to DVD too?? :D? Also, I discovered something about Hamanakaman during this that I never realized until now.
Tatsuki. I would shorten it to Tatsu, but I'm an Eighter and all it does is make me think of Yoshi XD btw, I laughed at this cap. He's all busted up.
Kikuoka! He's another one I realized something about that I never saw or realized before.
and I'm repeating myself because I'm SO EXCITED.
OKAY!
Since he's the star of the drama they start with his foolishness first! I always knew he was a dork but I didn't realize it was built completely into his being and with every breath dorkness would reign supreme. It begins the very first day of filming! With his silly staff-villagers comment and his nervous-filled giggling...
He gives us his impression of his 'oh' face. Which for a moment there I felt kind of dirty for looking at him that way but then I remembered that he's just a year younger than me so I'm doing no cradle rocking. It was cute that he felt the need to clarify his nervousness. Yeah dude, we all noticed how nervous you were lol
look at that neck..just waiting... *___*
One of the best things about this backstage look was how windy the location was. It gave some nice shots.

It's all wild and flow-like and he could almost be the cover model for a raunchy romance novel.

but then when he's inside talking he wears a cap!

Anyhow, a good thing about this offshoot was everyone commenting on everyone else.
Of course, comments about Maashii were fun as always.
(I laughed at this image so bad. Up to this point he was such a dorkhead and seeing him with a flower in his hair, amongst flowers reminded me of the whole, 'he has flowers growing from his head' idea.)
"But he's basically an idiot." "But even more of a blockhead." "Strange. He's a strange person."
They love him ♥
and lol in the next shots they talk about the falling into boar pits and how Maashii completely failed to fake fall into one.. because he actually does OMG LOL
WHERE'S MAASHII?!?! LOL
I was dying because he's no where to be seen and it was all quiet around there when he fell in and just. failbus omg. It reminded me of my favorite boar hole fall he did too. I think it was actually this one or one close like it. He literally bounced off the side when he fell into the hole. lol I'd love to have that as an icon.
Oh, I can't forget THIS!!

I just started laughing. He's so tall and there's smoke and he's trying to put it out and just. Failbus.
He's not all failbus though. He has his moments like the ones below-

Best part? The subtitles totally fit the caps XDDD That was something I noticed throughout; whoever edited the film really wanted to fit what was being said with the looks and feel of the onscreen action. That's partially why I capped so much. *had too much fun with 'descriptions' on pb*

what did I realize about him? There are three things
1.
His freakin' shiny, healthy looking skin! Must be those 4:45 am baths he takes.
2.
He kind of looks like Massu of NewS.
3.
He blends into the scenery like a ninja! Do you see him? DO YOU?!?
Who else.. bunbun!
He's shy.. :} and he smiles all, cute-like. If you shuffle between the two pictures really fast, it's like he's smiling at you. Try it! XD
He also shows us how he would flirt with his lady and that it's a hard life for a pimp
He conspires with Kikuoka in poking fun at his soulmate maashii for crying FORREAL!tears.
But that's okay because Maashii is a pimp himself, Ikemen I dare say
They get giggly together and sleep side by sidewhile the other two opt for their own space
Maashi keeps bunbun his forever and ever and wow I think I have a 'ship' in Veteran! Where the hell did this come from?! *dies*
This is way too long and it should have been done yesterdaaaay lol Though it's still 'today' for me.
